Critters

Vicariously, we humans engage the animal kingdom. Chatting up dogs, cats, birds, pets—you name it. This dialogue, back-n-forths— even arguments– all self-sided! Fables imbue creatures with human caricatures, emotions– even hidden agendas. Empathetically we bond, relate, assign characteristics. Eyes, postures, behaviors, and tendencies are keys. And so we watch. We surmise and we learn. Anecdotal history accumulates perceptions.
Anthropologist cites this behavior as anthropomorphism. Such attributes I’ll label Critters. The quirkier the better. Rollover John Ruskin –we just can’t help ourselves!
