An Indo-European base root for culture is to revolve and to dwell. Images represented showcase persons, places, events, and visual symbols. It’s the doing, repeating, preserving, and infusing beliefs. A significance is assigned and embodied. Traditions assign meaning and create societal touchstones. Participation creates culture.
In the Southwest New Mexico boasts a triad culture. Native American, Hispano, and Anglo cultures embody very diverse traditions. Access to indigenous, southwestern, and differing heritages drive my exploration. This involves ancient lands, habitats, and communal ceremonies. These images intend to be both insightful and respectful.
